Trapani police report six charges in hospitality sector inspections
The State Police in the province of Trapani have intensified inspections of hotels and bed and breakfasts to ensure compliance with public security regulations. The operations, conducted by the Administrative and Social Police Division of the Trapani Questura, resulted in six owners or representatives being reported to authorities for failing to communicate guest identities.
Under current law, hospitality managers must transmit guest details to public security authorities within six hours of arrival for stays under 24 hours, and within 24 hours for longer stays. Failure to comply with these reporting requirements constitutes a violation of the Consolidated Law on Public Safety.
One bed and breakfast in Marsala was specifically highlighted during the checks. Investigators noted that the establishment had allegedly failed to fulfill its reporting obligations for several years and was previously linked to gatherings that occurred on October 11. The police have announced that monitoring of hospitality structures will continue in the coming months to prevent further irregularities.
