Trapani province hosts major archaeological and cultural events

The province of Trapani is hosting a series of cultural, archaeological, and gastronomic events throughout late September 2026. As part of the European Heritage Days under the theme ‘Patrimonio in cammino’, major archaeological sites including Segesta, Selinunte, and the Lilibeo Park in Marsala are offering special programming. Highlights include night visits with video mapping at Selinunte, hot air balloon experiences over the Segesta archaeological park, and mosaic restoration showcases in Marsala.

Additionally, the region is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Drepanon and Xaipe Archaeological Groups. This milestone is marked by a three-day conference and series of studies from September 25 to 27, beginning at the Agostino Pepoli Regional Museum in Trapani to honor the legacy of Sebastiano Tusa and discuss two decades of local historical research.

Other regional activities include the conclusion of the Cous Cous Fest in San Vito Lo Capo, the Festa del Pastore in Marsala, and various guided tours through the ‘Le Vie dei Tesori’ initiative in Trapani, Alcamo, and Mazara del Vallo. The schedule also features sporting events like Fitwalking for AIL and various musical performances across the province.
