Trapani: SP16 road maintenance begins on August 25

Extraordinary maintenance work is scheduled to begin on the SP16 road between Bivio Lentina and San Vito Lo Capo in the province of Trapani. The project, which involves the section between via ex ASI and the SS 187, is expected to conclude in April 2027.

Funded by 2.18 million euros through the FSC 2021-2027 programming, the works will include resurfacing the road, updating vertical and horizontal signage, and installing underground cables and power lines. To manage the construction, alternating one-way traffic will be implemented in affected sections.

Salvatore Quinci, president of the Libero Consorzio Comunale di Trapani, stated that the use of temporary and mobile construction sites aims to minimize disruptions on this vital artery for reaching the tourist destination of San Vito Lo Capo. He noted that the project is part of a broader strategy to modernize provincial roads and improve safety and long-term economic development.
