Trapani to host event exploring the history and symbolism of Tarot

As part of the ‘Le Notti di BCsicilia’ event series, an initiative titled ‘Arcani sotto le stelle: esplorazioni degli aspetti storici artistici e simbolici dei Tarocchi’ will take place on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 9:00 PM. The event will be held at the Torre di Ligny in Trapani.

The program includes presentations by representatives from BCsicilia, the Museo civico di Preistoria Torre di Ligny, and the Pro Loco Trapani Centro. The session will explore the evolution of Tarot cards, which originated during the Italian Renaissance as hand-painted works of art for noble courts.

While originally intended for play and education, Tarot cards became associated with esoteric philosophy and popular divination starting in the 1700s. Modern interpretations often view the cards through a therapeutic lens, serving as a bridge between the subconscious and the conscious mind, a concept supported by the psychological theories of Carl Gustav Jung.
