Trapèze French bistro opens in Dallas Bishop Arts District
Trapèze, a French bohemian bar and bistro, has begun a soft opening phase in a repurposed bungalow located at 240 W. 8th St. in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas. Owned by Peter Novotny and Dan Murry, the establishment aims to serve as an artist’s enclave inspired by historic French cabarets.
The restaurant’s concept pays tribute to the historical French influence in Oak Cliff, which was once home to the La Reunion utopian community. The culinary program is directed by chef Jeremy Spector, who previously worked at establishments such as Balthazar and Gramercy Tavern.
While the venue is currently operating with a limited menu, owners expect to launch a full menu and brunch service soon. A formal grand opening date has not yet been announced.
