Traunstein district hosts Open Monument Day events
The annual ‘Tag des offenen Denkmals’ (Open Monument Day) will take place on September 13 in the Traunstein district. As part of the event, churches in Schnaitsee, Vachendorf, and Traunstein will open their doors to the public for free guided tours.
In Schnaitsee, visitors can explore the late Gothic Parish Church of Mariä Himmelfahrt, which features a Baroque high altar and a Madonna image dating to approximately 1460. Special access will be provided to the bell chamber, tower archives, and the roof structure. Additionally, the St. Elisabeth cemetery chapel will be available for viewing. In Traunstein, the Jackl-Turm will be open from 11:00 to 16:00, offering views of the town square and the surrounding landscape.
