Criminal violence and judicial rulings reported across Spain, Argentina, and Latin America
Various criminal incidents and judicial rulings have been reported across Spain, Argentina, Costa Rica, Paraguay, and Chile.
In Spain, the Guardia Civil arrested two youths in Mairena del Aljarafe for a hate crime involving the violent assault of a homeless person. In another case, a man in Sabinillas was detained for spreading manipulated videos and making threats against the Mayor of Algeciras and local police.
In Argentina, several high-profile cases reached legal milestones. A man was arrested in Avellaneda for allegedly hiring a hitman for a dispute involving drug trafficking. In Bahía Blanca, a man received an 11-year sentence for the long-term sexual abuse of his two children. Additionally, a man in Córdoba was sentenced to 13 years for sexual abuse, and a case in Bella Vista resulted in a 12-year sentence for child abuse. In Villa Gobernador Gálvez, a man was apprehended for assaulting a woman in public, and in Río Grande, a defendant was released under a judicial agreement following charges of gender violence.
In Costa Rica, a complaint was filed regarding threats made against an individual following public criticism of a video involving the Minister of Justice. In Paraguay, a mother reported that her daughter was the victim of prolonged bullying and physical assault at a school in Asunción, alleging the institution failed to intervene. In Chile, a man was placed in pretrial detention in Arica for attacking his pregnant ex-partner with a cutter and physical blows.
