Travel agent remanded for GH¢107,000 recruitment scam

Clement Osei-Wusu, a travel and tour agent, has been remanded by an Accra Circuit Court following allegations of a GH¢107,000 recruitment scam. Osei-Wusu is accused of defrauding a civil servant and his relatives by promising to secure them positions within various Ghanaian security services.

The prosecution alleges that the accused used a WhatsApp group titled ‘Limited Job Opportunities’ to advertise recruitment for the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), Ghana Police Service (GPS), Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

According to court proceedings, the complainant and his cousin made multiple payments to Osei-Wusu via bank transfers and mobile money to secure slots in the GAF and GPS. Osei-Wusu has pleaded not guilty to charges of defrauding by false pretences. He is scheduled to reappear in court on September 22, 2026.
