Travel assistance companies Universal Assistance and TIP Travel announce service expansions
Universal Assistance has appointed Iván de Pineda as its brand ambassador to launch a new phase of travel assistance services. The company is introducing BEST, a service providing medical coverage of up to USD 5 million, alongside digital tools such as mobile medical self-management, online baggage management, and an AI-driven wellness check. These services are supported by the international structure of Zurich Cover-More.
Additionally, Universal Assistance has launched the Transforming The Future (TTF) program, which aims to impact 100,000 young people in Latin American tourism-related communities over the next three years.
In a separate industry development, TIP Travel has expanded its service model to a 7x24 operation. The wholesale operator has extended its online assistance hours to include Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons and evenings. This model combines technological self-management tools with human support and a 24-hour emergency guard to assist travel agencies outside of traditional office hours.
