American Express expands Centurion Lounge network to Newark and Heathrow

American Express is expanding its Centurion Lounge network with significant new developments. A new flagship lounge is planned for Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) for 2027, which will exceed 30,000 square feet and feature themed bars and a wellness bar. Additionally, a second Centurion Lounge is scheduled to open at London Heathrow (LHR) Terminal 5 by 2028. These expansions are accompanied by renovations to existing lounges in Philadelphia and Houston.

In the travel rewards sector, Leaders Club, part of Leading Hotels of the World, has become a transfer partner for American Express points at a 4:1 ratio. Meanwhile, the Citi AAdvantage Business World Elite Mastercard is extending a loyalty points promotion through December 31, 2028, allowing both primary cardmembers and authorized users to earn points on spending.
