Travel Food Awards 2026 announce winners

The ninth edition of the Travel Food Awards, organized by the Gruppo Italiano Stampa Turistica (GIST) with ENIT patronage, has announced its winners at the TTG Rimini event. The awards recognize destinations and events that promote food tourism with an emphasis on sustainability and ethics.

The Sentieri del Carignano in Sulcis was named the best Italian food tourism destination. This 200-kilometer route spans 13 municipalities and features 12 stages, connecting vineyards, mining areas, and coastal landscapes with traditional local products.

Among international recipients, Crete was named the European Region of Gastronomy 2026, cited for its rich agricultural production and food traditions, including its extensive olive groves and citrus orchards. Additionally, the Trombolotto of Sermoneta received a special award for the recovery of an ancient citrus variety.
