Travel guidelines for carry-on luggage and electronic devices
Travelers preparing for relocation or flights should adhere to specific regulations regarding carry-on luggage and electronic devices to ensure security and convenience.
For liquids, most Italian airports require containers to be a maximum of 100 ml, stored in a single transparent, resealable 1-liter bag. Exceptions with different conditions apply to Rome Fiumicino, Milan Linate, Milan Malpensa, Bologna, and Turin. Medical liquids, aerosols, and gels for special dietary needs are permitted in quantities necessary for the duration of the trip, as per ENAC guidelines. Solid medications do not have quantity restrictions.
Regarding electronics, lithium batteries, power banks, and spare batteries must be kept in carry-on luggage or on the passenger's person; they are strictly prohibited in checked baggage due to overheating risks. Electronic cigarettes must also be carried in the cabin. Travelers are advised to arrive with devices like smartphones and laptops fully charged to minimize the need for in-flight charging.
