Travel prices drop significantly following summer peak

Travel costs for international trips are expected to decrease significantly following the start of the school year. According to the travel agency Ticket, trips to popular destinations such as Cyprus, Greece, and Turkey can be up to 45 percent cheaper than during the peak summer season. Charter packages including flights and hotels for one week are currently available for under 4,000 SEK per person in certain regions.

Data from Expedia indicates that November is the most cost-effective month for international hotel stays, with prices averaging 10 percent lower than in summer. Significant price drops of up to 30 percent are noted in locations such as the Portuguese Algarve (Albufeira and Faro), Greek islands (Mykonos and Kos), Benidorm, Alicante, and Istanbul.

However, price trends vary by region. While international hotel prices generally drop by 7 percent after summer, certain British cities are seeing increases; Birmingham prices are reported to rise by 30 percent and Liverpool by 20 percent compared to summer levels. Travelers are advised to avoid the Swedish autumn break in week 44 to prevent price hikes driven by family demand.
