Travel tech firms showcase AI solutions for tourism industry

Travel technology companies are introducing AI-driven solutions to address labor shortages and operational complexities in the tourism sector. At the upcoming Tourism EXPO Japan 2026, Nippon Steel Solutions (NSSOL) will showcase ‘COCOTRA’, an inbound business support solution. COCOTRA utilizes generative AI to automatically create travel itineraries from inquiry emails sent by overseas travel agencies, supporting languages such as English and Chinese to improve response speeds.

Additionally, Reiwa Travel will exhibit its ‘NEWT AI’ hospitality solutions. This includes ‘NEWT Voice’, which uses OpenAI’s real-time voice API for natural telephone interactions, and ‘NEWT Chat’, an AI chatbot capable of supporting over 40 languages. These tools aim to automate customer service and streamline inquiries for hotels and tourism facilities.
