Travel trends for 2027 focus on AI and pop culture influence

Recent industry reports highlight shifting consumer behaviors in the travel sector heading toward 2027. According to Booking.com, travelers are increasingly seeking unconventional experiences and destinations chosen based on emotional states. The study indicates that 77% of respondents are interested in activities outside their normal routines, while 81% would select a destination based on how they wish to feel. Artificial intelligence is expected to play a significant role in personalizing these holiday experiences.

Financial considerations are also impacting social travel dynamics, with 50% of respondents having reconsidered travel companions due to budget differences. Additionally, 61% of parents expressed interest in traveling without children to increase personal spending.

In Brazil, Hoteis.com reports that pop culture is a major driver for tourism. Approximately 65% of Brazilians surveyed have researched locations seen in films or series. Popular titles influencing travel include ‘Emily in Paris’ and ‘Bridgerton’. This trend extends to pre-release anticipation, where travelers book trips to locations associated with upcoming productions, such as the increased interest in Monaco following filming announcements for ‘Emily in Paris’.
