Travel trends shift toward minimalism and hygiene hacks

Modern travel habits are shifting toward minimalism and hygiene-focused hacks. A growing trend involves travelers wrapping tape around suitcase wheels to protect them from dirt, dust, and debris. This practice follows a study by travel insurer InsureandGo and microbiologist Amy-May Pointer, which found that suitcase wheels can harbor bacteria levels nearly 58 times higher than those found on public toilet seats.

Simultaneously, a movement toward luggage-free travel is emerging as a symbol of modern luxury. Driven by a cultural shift from ownership to access, many travelers are opting to carry less or nothing at all. This trend is supported by an expanding hospitality ecosystem where hotels provide fitness, beauty, and wellness essentials, and clothing can be rented at destinations, allowing for greater mobility and flexibility.
