Travel trends shift toward shorter trips and solo travel

Travel habits are shifting toward shorter, more frequent trips and solo adventures. Travelers are increasingly opting for local destinations and brief escapes rather than long-distance, extended vacations. This trend is driven by rising costs in accommodation, transport, and dining, making closer destinations more budget-friendly.

In Spain, solo travel is becoming a mainstream option. According to an eDreams study, 49% of Spaniards prefer solo trips lasting between four and seven days. There is also a notable preference for domestic travel, with 32% of Spaniards choosing destinations within the country. Regarding transportation, 46% of Spanish solo travelers favor the train, while 35% prefer traveling by car.
