Travel trends show rising demand in UK and India
New research indicates a significant rise in travel interest across different global markets. In the United Kingdom, Omio and YouGov report that 77% of British adults are likely to take or have already booked a leisure trip in the coming year. Nearly half of UK travellers expressed a desire to travel more frequently, with 66% expecting to travel domestically and 59% planning visits to other European countries.
In India, Airbnb data shows that domestic travel searches have increased nearly 40% year-on-year for the upcoming festive season. This growth is being driven largely by Gen Z travellers and families. Popular destinations for Indian travellers include spiritual centres like Varanasi, coastal areas such as North and South Goa, as well as cities like Kolkata and Bengaluru.
