Travelers find savings through flexibility as court rules against Ryanair fees

Travelers can reduce the cost of package holidays by maintaining flexibility regarding departure airports and travel dates. According to Alltours Managing Director Dennis Schrahe, flying from a different federal state where school holidays are not currently in session can save passengers several hundred euros. Additionally, traveling mid-week or opting for non-standard trip durations can lead to significant savings.

In a separate legal development, the Cottbus District Court has ruled against Ryanair regarding its check-in fees. The court rejected the airline's appeal after a family was charged 55 euros per person for airport counter check-in because the online option had been deactivated two hours before their flight. The court clarified that check-in is a prerequisite for the airline to fulfill its transport obligation and should not be treated as a purely optional, paid add-on service that passengers are forced to use due to technical limitations.
