Travelex reports Q2 2026 revenue decline amid Middle East conflict
Travelex Issuerco 2 Plc reported its Q2 2026 financial results, showing a decline in revenue and earnings. The company reported Q2 revenue of £97.5 million, down £15.5 million on a like-for-like basis compared to Q2 2025. Underlying EBITDA fell to £3.9 million from £7.5 million in the previous year's quarter.
The company attributed these results to disruptions caused by the Middle East conflict, which impacted regional stores, global currency supply chains, and international travel patterns. To strengthen its financial position, Travelex reached an agreement with shareholders in June 2026 to cancel 70% of its investor loans.
On the operational front, Travelex secured several contracts, including a new presence at Sydney International Airport, Dusseldorf Airport, and an extension at Edinburgh Airport. Additionally, the group entered a definitive agreement to sell its Brazilian bank, Banco Travelex S.A., to StoneX Group, with closing expected by Q3 2027 subject to regulatory approval.
