Travis Barker recalls 2008 plane crash and daughter's warning

Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has shared new details regarding the 2008 private plane crash that killed four people and left him with severe burns over much of his body. Speaking on the ‘On Purpose with Jay Shetty’ podcast, Barker recounted the emotional and psychological aftermath of the accident, including his struggle with suicidal thoughts and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Barker revealed that his daughter, Alabama Barker, who was a toddler at the time, had an eerie premonition before the flight. He recalled her crying and telling him, ‘The roof’s gonna come off.’ He also noted that the decision to charter a private jet was made at the last minute, which prevented him from performing his usual safety checks regarding the aircraft and pilots.

The crash, which occurred during takeoff from Columbia Metropolitan Airport in South Carolina, claimed the lives of Barker’s security guard, personal assistant, and both pilots. Barker and his friend Adam ‘DJ AM’ Goldstein were the only survivors. Barker also discussed his long-term fear of flying, which lasted 13 years, and how his family eventually helped him overcome the trauma.
