Travis Head Wins Back-to-Back Allan Border Medal

Australian left‑handed batter Travis Head was awarded the Allan Border Medal for the second consecutive year, edging South Australian teammate Alex Carey by a single vote (153 to 152). Head accumulated 1,437 runs in 30 matches across all formats during the 2025‑26 season, highlighted by a 123‑run, 83‑ball innings in the opening Ashes Test at Perth and further centuries in Adelaide and Sydney, totalling 629 runs in the series.

His back‑to‑back win makes him the sixth player to claim the medal multiple times, joining Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke, Shane Watson, David Warner and Steven Smith. The ceremony was held in Brisbane. Other award winners included Mitchell Starc as Test Player of the Year, Mitchell Marsh as ODI Player of the Year, Tim David as T20 Player of the Year, and Annabel Sutherland receiving a second consecutive Belinda Clark Award.

The Australian team now looks ahead to a busy Test schedule, beginning with a series against Bangladesh in Darwin.
