Bratenahl residents dispute Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce privacy plans

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are facing community opposition in Bratenahl, Ohio, regarding security and privacy upgrades at their $5.35 million lakeside estate. The couple has proposed installing a six-foot black aluminum fence and extensive landscaping, including numerous trees, to enhance privacy.

Local residents have raised several objections during Architectural Review Board meetings. Concerns include the potential for trees to interfere with a shared century-old clay sewer line, the impact on neighbors' views of Lake Erie, and the possibility of the couple acting as absentee owners. Some residents also expressed worry that the fencing could pose a safety hazard to local wildlife.

While the board has granted approval for certain front landscaping and the fence, they have held off on approving shoreline trees that might grow too tall.

Separately, Travis Kelce recently celebrated his 37th birthday in New York City with Swift, dining at Torrisi. Kelce also noted on the ‘New Heights’ podcast that a recent Kansas City Chiefs victory was the highlight of his birthday.
