Travis Kelce nears NFL receiving yards record for tight ends

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is positioned to break the NFL record for career receiving yards by a tight end. According to calculations from Yahoo Sports and NBC Sports, Kelce requires approximately 34 to 35 more receiving yards to surpass Tony Gonzalez's career total of 15,413 yards.

While the gap in regular-season yards remains significant, Kelce has closed the distance through extensive postseason success. Kelce has accumulated over 2,000 yards in ten postseason runs with the Chiefs, whereas Gonzalez recorded 286 yards across two playoff appearances. The record pursuit is expected to take place during the Chiefs' upcoming game against the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field.
