Travis Kelce praises Efton Chism III for creative Patriots play
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce reacted positively to a creative play executed by New England Patriots wide receiver Efton Chism III during a game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
During a second-quarter third-and-11 situation, Patriots quarterback Drake Maye completed a short pass to Chism. Instead of attempting to run through defenders, Chism handed the ball to running back TreVeyon Henderson, who successfully secured a first down.
Speaking on the ‘New Heights’ podcast, Kelce praised the young receiver's instincts, stating, ‘I like where this kid’s head’s at. He’s a ball player.’ Kelce also offered technical advice, suggesting Chism keep the ball on the defender's upfield shoulder to better facilitate the handoff. Patriots coach Mike Vrabel noted that Chism’s improvisational style during the play was reminiscent of Kelce’s own approach to the game.
