Travis Roth pleads guilty to fatal car crash involving his children

Travis Roth, 32, has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving occasioning death and dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm following a collision in the Bega Valley. The incident occurred on May 13, 2025, on Towamba Road when Roth’s dual-cab ute crossed unbroken lines and collided with a Kenworth tipper truck.

The crash resulted in the death of Roth’s six-year-old son, who sustained catastrophic injuries at the scene. Two other children in the vehicle were transported to Sydney Children's Hospital for treatment, including a girl with spinal injuries and an infant whose child seat was ejected during the impact. Police noted there was no indication that Roth was speeding at the time of the accident.

Sentencing has been adjourned until February 2027, at which time the matter will be heard in the Bega District Court.
