Jakov Milatović proposes social media limits for minors in Montenegro

Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović has called for a public debate regarding potential restrictions on social media access for children under the age of 16. He emphasized that protecting children in the digital space must become a priority for society, noting that digital violence is often overlooked in discussions concerning peer-to-peer violence.

Milatović stated that children are currently highly vulnerable in the digital environment. He noted that similar measures are being considered in several developed Western nations. The President mentioned that his stance was reinforced during recent meetings in New York involving global leaders, including initiatives led by French President Emmanuel Macron and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, focused on child rights and protection in the era of artificial intelligence.
