Trayvone Reid draws attention with unusual penalty attempt

Jamaican footballer Trayvone Reid has gained widespread social media attention following an unusual penalty kick attempt during a Caribbean Club Championship semifinal match between Mount Pleasant and Club Sando.

During the 36th minute of the match, Reid took approximately 17 to 20 seconds to approach the ball, using a slow, rhythmic run-up consisting of many small steps. Despite the lengthy approach intended to unsettle the opposition, Reid’s shot lacked power and direction. Club Sando goalkeeper Teshorne Ragoo easily saved the attempt.

The missed penalty had significant implications for the match. Mount Pleasant, which had been leading 1-0, was unable to extend their advantage and eventually saw Club Sando equalize in the 56th minute through a goal by Daniel David. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, leaving the semifinal outcome to be decided in the second leg.
