TRE-PI conducts emergency medical training for election safety
The Regional Electoral Court of Piauí (TRE-PI) has initiated rapid response training for medical emergencies to ensure safety during elections. Conducted through the Health Assistance Advisory (ASAS), the training is part of the ‘Salve’ action plan, which focuses on medical support and logistics for election periods.
The training sessions, led by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU), involve members of the Judicial Police and Intelligence Cabinet, as well as staff from various TRE-PI units. A pilot phase has also included accessibility coordinators from three electoral zones in Teresina and two zones in the interior, specifically Altos and Campo Maior.
Participants are being trained to provide basic assistance for conditions such as hypoglycemia, seizures, vertigo, choking, and stroke symptoms, as well as the use of newly acquired defibrillators, until advanced medical help arrives.
