TRE-PI sets 2026 election result goals and security strategies
The Regional Electoral Court of Piauí (TRE-PI) is preparing for the 2026 elections with a focus on rapid results and coordinated security. Judge José Wilson Ferreira de Araújo Júnior, president of the TRE-PI, stated a goal to provide official election results by 9:30 PM on election night. The state will utilize 11,000 electronic voting machines to facilitate the counting of votes for governor, senator, and legislative positions.
To ensure public order and a peaceful voting process, TRE-PI is coordinating a strategic meeting with various security forces. This includes the Brazilian Army, Federal Police, Federal Highway Police, and state and municipal security agencies. During these sessions, the Army will present its operational plan for the election period to ensure integration between security institutions and the Electoral Justice system.
