Treasurer accused of defrauding junior rugby league club of $83k
Julie Annette Schuck, 54, appeared in Raymond Terrace Local Court after being accused of defrauding the Raymond Terrace Roosters Junior Rugby League Football Club of more than $83,000. Schuck pleaded not guilty to six counts of dishonestly obtaining a financial advantage by deception.
Police allege the fraud occurred over six football seasons between 2019 and 2025. The investigation, launched in July 2025 following identified financial discrepancies, suggests that cash takings from the club’s canteen and gear shed operations were not deposited into the club’s bank accounts. Alleged annual amounts withheld ranged from $2,631 to $26,548.
Detectives from the Port Stephens Hunter Police District charged Schuck on July 24. The matter is scheduled to return to court in October.
