Treasury Wine Estates reports growth in China and US markets

Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) has reported positive momentum in its first quarter of fiscal year 2027, driven by strong performance in key markets. The company noted that Penfolds depletions in China grew slightly ahead of plan, supported by robust consumer demand, despite previous challenges related to shifting consumption patterns in the region.

In the United States, TWE saw increased depletions across its Power Brands, led by DAOU and Matua. The company’s luxury portfolio has achieved three consecutive quarters of growth in the US market. Additionally, the group reported improved performance in its home market of Australia, particularly within independent retail.

Separately, the TEHA Group ‘Visione Vino 2026’ report highlights trends in the wine sector, noting that family-owned wineries that have completed generational transitions see 8.8% higher revenues and 18% higher investment levels. The report estimates the wine supply chain value at 40.7 billion euros, representing 2.1% of GDP.
