Trebbo di Reno to name public park after J.R.R. Tolkien

The municipality of Trebbo di Reno has announced that a 50,000 square meter public park will be named ‘Parco John Ronald Reuel Tolkien’ in honor of the author of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Hobbit’.

The decision was made by the municipal council following a participatory process involving the local community and the fractional council. The park's redesign, part of the ‘Trebbo si fa bella (e sostenibile) – Cittadini in (fr)Azione’ initiative, aimed to transform the space into a literary park featuring fantasy-inspired elements and settings.

The official naming ceremony is scheduled for Friday, September 18, at 18:00 during the fantasyTrebbo diSpade festival. Expected attendees include Mayor Luca Vignoli and representatives from the Trebbo territorial council and the Pro Loco of Castel Maggiore.
