Trebinje Court orders detention for Bileća attempted murder suspects

The District Court in Trebinje has ordered one-month detention for Željko Vujović, who is suspected of attempted serious murder during a horse racing event near Bileća on August 22, 2026. Vujović, described as having a prior criminal record, is accused of using a vehicle to strike people.

Mirko Samardžić has also been placed in detention. He is suspected of aiding the perpetrator after the crime was committed. Prosecutors allege that Samardžić, knowing of the attempted murder, helped Vujović avoid detection by arranging transportation for another individual to move them from Bijeljani to Davidovići.

The court cited concerns that the suspects might destroy, hide, or falsify evidence, or influence witnesses and accomplices during the ongoing criminal proceedings.
