Trebinje Firefighters Combat Blaze with Helicopter Support

Trebinje firefighters fought a forest fire in the Dživarski field for the entire day, reporting no damage to residential buildings. Commander Dejan Kašiković said a helicopter from the Ministry of Interior’s Aviation Directorate was deployed to assist, and that detonations from a nearby minefield were heard as the fire burned.

The crews, including volunteers from the “Lastva” fire department and local residents, have been on the scene for five consecutive days, often advancing on foot with backpacks due to the difficult terrain. Kašiković thanked Mayor Mirko Ćurić, the city administration, and the aviation directorate for their support in protecting lives and property.
