Trebinje Man Charged with Breaking Girlfriend’s Neck Bones
A 24‑year‑old man identified as T.M. has been indicted for severe bodily injury after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in Trebinje. According to the indictment, the attack occurred during the night of 28‑29 April 2026 in the couple’s apartment, where the suspect repeatedly struck the victim with open and closed fists and forcefully squeezed her neck.
The victim sustained critical injuries, including swelling of sub‑cutaneous tissue, bleeding around the right eye and abdomen, and, most seriously, fractures of the fourth and fifth cervical vertebrae described as “falling tears,” though no spinal‑cord damage was reported. The Regional Public Prosecutor’s Office in Trebinje filed the charge under article 132, paragraph 1 of the Republika Srpska Criminal Code for causing a severe bodily injury, and the Basic Court in Trebinje confirmed the indictment. The suspect is alleged to have been fully aware of his actions and their prohibited nature at the time of the assault.
