Trebisacce Fire Department to open permanent station

The permanent fire department detachment in Trebisacce is scheduled to open on Saturday, October 24. This development follows years of institutional efforts and local government investment to establish a permanent rescue presence in the Alto Ionio Cosentino area.

The Ministry of the Interior has assigned 32 personnel to the new station, including 8 squad leaders and 24 firefighters sourced from various national commands. The municipality of Trebisacce fully funded the construction of the facility to enhance emergency response capabilities for the region, which faces challenges such as complex road networks and high seasonal population surges along the coast.

The opening follows advocacy from the CONAPO Cosenza union and various political figures at the parliamentary and regional levels. The new station aims to improve response times for emergencies including fires, road accidents, and other public safety threats.
