Tree conservation projects underway at Cambridge Park and Panshanger Park

Various conservation initiatives are underway to protect and restore tree populations in different regions. In Guernsey, 30 commemorative trees are being planted in Cambridge Park through a partnership between Healthspan, Guernsey Trees for Life, and the St Peter Port Parish. The project aims to enhance biodiversity, build climate resilience, and replace trees lost to previous storms.

In the United Kingdom, a restoration project at the historic Panshanger Park near Hertford has seen the installation of 272 tree guards. Supplied by Cotswold Decorative Ironworks, these guards are designed to protect young saplings from deer and livestock as part of a regenerative grazing scheme. The project is supported by funding from Tarmac, Historic England, and Natural England.
