Tree removal dispute in Lower Silesia sparks local debate

Local authorities in Poland are facing conflicting demands regarding a tree-lined avenue on a county road connecting Krzeszówek and Gorzeszow. Residents have expressed concern after seeing markings on tree trunks, which they interpret as a precursor to large-scale cutting. They are advocating for the preservation of the avenue as a key element of the local landscape.

District Starosta Małgorzata Krzyszkowska stated that the county has applied for permission to remove certain trees due to safety concerns. Previous reports from residents indicated that some trees are prone to breaking, posing a risk to road users.

The final decision rests with the Mayor of Kamienna Góra, who will determine whether to grant or deny the permit following on-site inspections. The process also requires consultation with the Regional Director for Environmental Protection in Wrocław.
