Trek and Continental develop components for 32-inch mountain bike wheels

Major industry players are advancing the development of 32-inch wheel diameter technology for mountain biking and gravel riding. Trek has showcased advanced prototypes featuring 32-inch wheels, including both full-suspension models and a hardtail design that suggests a future 32-inch version of the Procaliber. These prototypes feature integrated handlebar and stem setups designed to manage riding position and control.

Supporting this shift in wheel size, Continental has announced the development of the Dubnital 32-inch tire. Designed for both MTB and gravel applications, the tire will utilize a Race casing and Rapid compound to prioritize low rolling resistance and speed. The tire is expected to reach the market in April 2027, providing necessary component compatibility as manufacturers move beyond experimental prototypes toward production-ready 32-inch wheel systems.
