Trek and RockShox debut new 32-inch wheel mountain bike components
Major mountain bike manufacturers and component brands are expanding into the 32-inch wheel segment for cross-country (XC) racing. Trek has unveiled its first full-suspension 32-inch mountain bike, which is slated to be used by its team riders during the 2026 World Cup round at Soldier Hollow.
This new Trek model features the RockShox SID 32-inch fork, signaling significant industry interest in this diameter. The fork design incorporates elements from the ZEB and Lyrik enduro lines, featuring a distinctively shaped arch and hollowed-out lower legs. Supporting components for this new standard are also emerging, including 32-inch carbon rims from Bontrager and specialized tires from Pirelli.
At the Sea Otter Europe event, Pirelli’s involvement was confirmed via the Scorpion RH 32-inch tires mounted on a KTM Scarp EVO 4 display bike. The Scorpion RH is Pirelli’s fastest XC tire model, featuring a tread pattern optimized for rolling efficiency with low-profile central knobs and larger, spaced lateral knobs.
