Trek unveils fifth-generation Domane endurance road bike

Trek has unveiled the fifth generation of its Domane endurance road bike, featuring a significant design shift by removing the IsoSpeed technology that previously defined the model. To compensate for the loss of this mechanical vibration-damping system, Trek is utilizing carbon frame shaping, a redesigned 27.2 mm carbon seatpost that flexes vertically, and increased tire clearance of up to 40 mm.

The new SLR frameset is 305 grams lighter than its predecessor. Trek claims the updated design maintains vibrational energy performance within 5% of the previous generation when used with specified tires. The redesigned bike features a more traditional silhouette with integrated mounts for fenders and bags, alongside a riser bar providing 20 mm of lift for an upright endurance position.

The lineup will include the Domane SL, starting at $2,399.99, and the premium Domane SLR, which offers Project One customization. A limited edition ICON No. 76 paint scheme will be available in fewer than 500 units globally.
