Trelew community center robbed of essential food and gas supplies
A community center and snack bar known as ‘El Mesón’ in the Costanera neighborhood of Trelew was burglarized over the weekend. Perpetrators forced entry into the facility, stealing essential supplies that threaten the center's ability to provide daily meals to hundreds of families.
The stolen items include two 10-kilogram gas canisters, a 32-inch television, meat and chicken, non-perishable food, sweets, and clothing. The loss of the gas canisters is particularly critical, as the building lacks a natural gas connection and relies entirely on canisters for cooking.
Coordinator Daniel Castillo discovered the scene on Sunday morning. While neighbors reported hearing strange noises in the early hours of Sunday, the prevailing wind may have masked the sounds of the break-in. A police report has been filed to investigate the incident.
