Tremaine Edmunds to miss remainder of season with shoulder injury

New York Giants linebacker Tremaine Edmunds will miss the rest of the season due to a right shoulder injury sustained during a game against the New Orleans Saints. Edmunds, a marquee free-agent acquisition who signed a three-year, $36 million contract in the offseason, had started every game this season and led the team with 50 tackles.

The injury marks a significant blow to the Giants' defense and roster stability. Edmunds joins quarterback Jaxson Dart, outside linebacker Brian Burns, and receiver/returner Braxton Berrios as the fourth starter lost to a season-ending injury this year.

Micah McFadden is expected to take over Edmunds' role and handle defensive play-calling responsibilities. McFadden, a veteran with 36 career starts, had seen limited defensive action this season due to the heavy workload of Edmunds and rookie Arvell Reese.
