Tremp hosts ‘Textos i textures’ literary and textile exhibition

The Maria Barbal Public Library in Tremp has inaugurated ‘Textos i textures’, an exhibition featuring a dialogue between the literary works of writer Maria Barbal and the contemporary textile art of Palmira Rius.

The exhibition is structured around 12 literary excerpts selected by Barbal from various novels, including ‘País íntima’, ‘Tàndem’, ‘En la pell de l’altre’, ‘Emma’, ‘Càmfora’, and ‘Al llac’. These texts are paired with 12 textile pieces created by Rius specifically for the installation. The event was opened by the Mayor of Tremp, Sílvia Romero.

This is the first stop of an itinerant exhibition supported by the Public Library Service of the Generalitat de Catalunya, which will travel to various libraries in the Lleida region. The exhibition will remain open to the public until October 16. Additionally, a new biography of Barbal, ‘Paraules per al silenci’ by Carme Arenas, is scheduled for release soon.
