Trends in aesthetic plastic surgery focus on natural results

Recent data and medical trends indicate a shift in aesthetic plastic surgery toward more natural outcomes and specialized techniques. According to the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), mastopexy saw a 48% increase in 2025, contributing to a total of 4.7 million breast procedures globally. Brazil leads the world in aesthetic surgical procedures, recording 2.3 million surgeries.

In mastopexy, techniques such as the L-shaped scar aim to reduce the length of horizontal incisions compared to the traditional inverted T-shape. Clinical studies, including research published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, emphasize that surgical selection must be tailored to individual anatomy, including skin elasticity and the degree of sagging.

Similarly, facial rejuvenation trends are moving away from the ‘over-stretched’ look of traditional facelifts. Modern approaches prioritize the repositioning of underlying tissues—including fat, ligaments, and muscles—to restore facial contours while preserving the patient's natural expressions and unique features.
