Trenggalek promoted at Yeosu World Island Fair 2026

Novita Hardini, a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Commission VII, is promoting the potential of Trenggalek Regency, East Java, at the Yeosu World Island Fair 2026 in South Korea.

The international event, themed ‘Island, Connecting the Ocean and the Future’, runs from September 5 to November 4, 2026. It involves approximately 30 countries and three international organizations, with a target of three million visitors. Hardini aims to leverage the fair to introduce Trenggalek’s culture and resources to the global stage, seeking to attract not only tourists but also business partners and collaborators.

Hardini emphasized the importance of cultural diplomacy and noted that while Indonesia’s island tourism resources are vast, there is a critical need for advanced technological infrastructure to enhance the visitor experience. She also advocated for prioritizing physical infrastructure in island regions—such as connected roads, electricity, water, and digital connectivity—to transform culture into a sustainable economic force.
