Trenitalia increases capacity on Bologna-Porretta rail line

Trenitalia Tper, in agreement with the Emilia-Romagna Region, has introduced a new double-decker electric train on the Bologna-Porretta line to address overcrowding. Starting September 14, the 17:17 regional service from Bologna Centrale to Porretta Terme will utilize a 465-seat train, replacing the previous 300-seat single-deck model. This increase of 165 seats aims to improve passenger comfort on one of the line's most heavily used routes, which sees over 12,000 daily passengers on weekdays.
