18‑year‑old arrested after burglary and coffee incident in Trenčín, Slovakia
Police in the Trenčín region arrested an 18‑year‑old man suspected of repeatedly entering family homes in the Záblatie district on 6 July. Investigators say the suspect stole a wallet containing personal documents, a payment card and cash from one residence, and in another house he was interrupted by the owner and left. In a third home he drank a prepared cappuccino and ate apricots before being chased away by the homeowner’s dog.
The police announced the suspect was detained shortly after the reports and has been charged with a breach of domicile. A court decision on pre‑trial detention is pending, and if convicted the young man faces up to five years in prison.
The case was publicised after police appealed to citizens for information, leading to additional witnesses coming forward and confirming the suspect’s movements across several properties.
