Trensurb service partially suspended in Canoas for viaduct works

Trensurb operations will be partially suspended on September 26 and 27 due to essential maintenance work on a viaduct over the BR-116 highway in Canoas. The National Department of Transport Infrastructure (Dnit) will perform these works in the airspace above the tracks, necessitating the service adjustment.

During this period, trains will only operate on the southern section between Estação Mercado and Estação Mathias Velho. On Saturday, trains will run every 15 minutes, and on Sunday, every 20 minutes. Direct trips to Novo Hamburgo are temporarily suspended.

To maintain urban mobility, Dnit has implemented a contingency plan providing free complementary buses to cover the route between Estação Mathias Velho and Estação Novo Hamburgo, including all intermediate stops. These buses will depart every 10 minutes. Due to fleet restrictions, passengers are advised that bicycles and animals will not be permitted on the replacement buses.
